ZoneCo's Regulatory Design Studio is focused solely on one thing: simple, effective, and beautiful regulatory illustrations. Because a standard people can see is a standard people can follow.
What the studio produces
- Dimensional standard diagrams: setbacks, height, build-to lines, lot coverage, and encroachments
- Building type and frontage type illustrations
- District character sketches and axonometric views
- Sign type diagrams for sign codes
- Use tables, process flowcharts, and "how to use this code" graphics
- Charrette renderings and engagement boards
- Illustrated design guidelines for historic districts and corridors
Design is the third discipline
Law makes a code hold up. Planning makes it implement the plan. Design makes it usable by the people it regulates: residents, applicants, and the staff who administer it every day. The studio works inside every ZoneCo code project and is available to other firms and communities as a standalone service.
