Background: ZoneCo’s Lead Principal Jocelyn Gibson is an experienced and knowledgeable city planner with extensive public and private sector planning, zoning and commercial real estate experience. In addition to managing projects, Jocelyn lead’s the firm’s business development efforts.
Prior to joining ZoneCo in 2020, Jocelyn worked for a zoning consulting firm, and prior to that at global real estate firm, CBRE. At CBRE, Jocelyn was a strategist for global real estate portfolios, developing client strategies regarding locational decisions, workspace optimization, property consolidation, and advising on zoning and land use. Prior to CBRE, Jocelyn was a Planner with the City of Cincinnati from 2012-2015. She was with the City’s planning department for the development of their award-winning form-based code and their award-winning comprehensive plan.
Jocelyn is a co-founder and past Chair of the Midwestern Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNUMW). She was elected to the CNU National Board in 2021 and served until 2023. Jocelyn believes in acting locally; she has served on her community council, as a board member of her local CDC, and as chair of a board of zoning appeals.
Jocelyn was born and raised in Ontario, Canada before moving to the United States to pursue collegiate athletics. Jocelyn is a former Division I athlete, and previously held the University of Cincinnati records for the indoor 800m and 1,000m races. She currently lives in the Detroit, Michigan area.
